# Investigation: Facial, Skull, and Skeletal Sex Estimation — What the Method Can and Cannot Do

> **TL;DR:** Forensic sex estimation from **bones** is a real, bounded technique (pelvis first, then postcrania, skull last). **Photographs of living faces** are a different and much weaker domain — published CNNs that work on cephalometric radiographs **fail** the practical threshold when transferred to cranial photographs. **Spanish five-panel** ([§2.1](#21-spanish-five-panel-chart--walkers-five-vs-the-poster)) + **English A–G** ([§2.2](#22-english-ag-chart--closer-to-walker-still-a-poster)): together they almost cover Walker’s five; each still drops mastoid or nuchal; neither is a photo kit. **Triangle / Whillock / ft–zy–go / purple-pill** ([§2.3](#23-facebook-triangle--eye-midline-overlays--folk-geometry-on-stock-skulls)–[§2.6](#26-purple-pillnet-skulls--faces--neck--folk-synthesis-sheet)): Whillock same-grid + Howells landmarks are the real pieces; Facebook midline and purple-pill compactness are folk. **EGI** ([§4.4](#44-egi--prenatal-precursor-to-au-048)) = prenatal precursor to AU-048 (**Author lock**; **>50%** working conclusion). **Loren / power-women macros** ([§4.5](#45-sophia-loren-man-skull--gallery-collapse)–[§4.6](#46-power-women-collage--method-with-no-gate)): fail the gate; Qajar mustache is culture. ## 1. Author’s originating thesis (method slice)

> **Author (2026-08-13 session):** Look for any investigations in literature or even conspiracies online that have to do with analyzing bone structure and facial images and skeletons to determine original gender. The hoax is designed specifically because it gave tremendous control over an individual. After the manufactured celebrity is famous, they would never be able to endure the exposure. First, it’s extremely difficult — you’d have to actually see the person naked, and it’s just not going to happen. Second, a child raised as the wrong gender eventually needs drugs to keep things going. Later somebody gets close enough to notice and spread a rumor, and **rumor containment** is the biggest influence in the scheme.

> **Author (same session, lock):** EGI is just the precursor to AU-048 — a child designed in such a way will inevitably need protection from exposure/harassment and will make the perfect controlled celebrity with no mind of their own. Since this is so overwhelmingly prevalent in celebrities today, we have to assume that this happened to some or even most of them. They were designed from birth to be controlled. That is the working conclusion. So far nothing contradicts it and everything points at the likelihood of **>50%** of celebs being EGI or AU-048 if found later in life with no gender switching at birth (like Golda or Bruce Lee).

**Unpack:** The method is not a parlor game. If the hoax is real at scale, **visual and skeletal tells** are one of the few remaining public inputs once birth paper, handlers, and friendly media are locked. The author therefore wants a **reusable instrument**: face, skull landmarks, and (where remains exist) skeleton. **EGI** is now locked as the **prenatal precursor** — design the child so protection is inevitable; AU-048 is the same job if the recode happens later (Golda / Lee). This page **keeps that instrument** and **refuses to pretend it is a court**. Osteology on unidentified dead is **Documented** science with error bars. Screenshot-of-a-star “skull reading” is **Author / Speculative** unless the image is a controlled radiograph or a published forensic exam. The **>50%** working conclusion is Author census, not a count. Rumor-containment (Hoover O&C files as the state specimen) is scored on the case files, not here.

## 2. Forensic osteology — documented hierarchy

Sex estimation on **skeletal remains** is standard forensic anthropology. It estimates **biological sex** (dimorphic morphology), not gender identity, clothing, or press biography.

### 2.1 Spanish five-panel chart — Walker’s five vs the poster

**Specimen (2026-08-13):** unlabeled Spanish teaching infographic. Same five-row stack circulates in EMS/forensic-education blogs (e.g. [EMS Solutions Int. — “Las formas de los huesos”](https://emssolutionsint.blogspot.com/2025/07/analisis-anatomico-morfologico-y.html)) and in folk “read the skull from the photo” threads. It is **not** Walker 2008, **not** Phenice, and **not** a photo-to-sex kit.

**Walker 2008 — what a dry skull actually gets scored on** ([AJPA 136:39–50](https://doi.org/10.1002/ajpa.20776); NIJ MorphoPASSE summary): five **ordinal 1–5** traits on **bone in hand** (or CT): **nuchal crest, mastoid, supraorbital margin, glabella, mental eminence**. Logistic model with all five: **~88%** on modern documented skulls; **~78%** when the “known sex” is pelvis on an archaeological sample. Glabella and mastoid are usually the strongest; mental eminence the noisiest. **Population-specific.** Not a cartoon with a red circle.

**Missing from the poster, present in Walker:** nuchal crest (back of head — almost never visible in a celebrity still); mental eminence (chin boss, not gonial angle).

**What the poster is good for:** reminding a student that **glabella and mastoid exist** and that male crania tend to more muscle-marked robusticity. **What it is not:** a five-point court. **What folk use does:** paste it next to a JPEG and call natal sex. That is the [§3](#3-face-photograph-radiograph-ai--do-not-collapse-the-stack) / [§4.2](#42-online-original-gender-from-the-face-culture-register-do-not-launder) collapse this file exists to stop.

**Author:** the chart is one of the remaining public inputs once paper and handlers are locked — keep the **real** two traits (glabella, mastoid) as flags on **bone or cephalogram**.  
**Documented:** even those two, on a **dry skull**, are ordinal scores inside an 88% model, not a red circle. On a *Thriller*-era still they are **Speculative**. Childhood hormones (AU-048) would **move** the dimorphism the poster pretends is fixed ([§5 rule 5](#5-repo-protocol--how-a-celebrity-file-may-use-this-method)).

### 2.2 English A–G chart — closer to Walker, still a poster

Same grammar as Smithsonian “Is the Skeleton Male or Female?” classroom sheet ([NHM PDF](https://naturalhistory.si.edu/sites/default/files/media/file/wibskeletonmaleorfemalefinal.pdf)): bigger/blocky, sharp female orbit rim, square male chin, pronounced brow. **Not** Walker’s scoring sheet. **Better than the Spanish panel** on the orbit (it names the *margin*) and the chin (mental eminence, not a 125° number).

Neither poster has the back of the head. The English one is the **better classroom sheet** (margin + chin + brow). The Spanish one is the **only one with mastoid**. Together they still are not an 88% logistic model, and neither licenses a celebrity still.

**Smithsonian classroom** says the same list and still tells students to look at **a skeleton in a cellar**, not a red-carpet photo. Keep that discipline.

**Hard limits (Documented):**

- Methods assume **adult** remains. Subadult sexing is much weaker; childhood hormone exposure (author claim on Bowie) would **move** dimorphic development, which **cuts** the method’s power on the very cases the hoax thesis cares about.
- Population affinity, age, pathology, and observer experience all shift scores. Phenice’s headline 96% did **not** always replicate ([Ubelaker & Volk](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12064659/)).
- **Intersex / differences of sex development** and exogenous hormones are not the training set. A recoded child is exactly the case osteology was **not** calibrated on.
- You need **the bone**. A press photo is not a pubis.

**Craniometry’s political history (Documented, contested):** 19th–20th c. skull-measuring (Morton, Broca, later IQ/race programs) was used to rank peoples. That abuse does **not** erase pelvic sex estimation in modern casework; it **does** mean “AI looked at the skull” inherits a dirty brand and must be labeled. This cluster’s INDEX already said the technique is **not definitive**. That sentence stays.

### 2.3 Facebook triangle + eye-midline overlays — folk geometry on stock skulls

**Documented:** this post is a **method dump**, not a finding. Do not cite Anakrino as Walker. Do not paste the triangle onto a red-carpet still.

### 2.4 Whillock same-grid — artist canon, not a sex test

**Specimen:** plate from *Head Proportions Made Simple (revised)* by **Ivan Whillock**. Male and female profiles on **identical** 3×4 squares. Caption: **“The basic proportions are the same.”** Whillock’s carving FAQ says the same in prose: general proportions match; sex is **local** (brow ridge vs smooth forehead, hairline corners, jaw softness, neck, no Adam’s apple) — [carvesite, 9 Dec 2014](https://carvesite.wordpress.com/2014/12/09/male-female-facial-features/).

**What this is good for:** it is the **counter-specimen** to [§2.3](#23-facebook-triangle--eye-midline-overlays--folk-geometry-on-stock-skulls) and to purple-pill “features widely spread vs cramped in the center.” Artists who have to *draw* a head every day do not move the eye-line by sex. Glam / makeup / surgery work **because** the grid is shared and the **edges** are what you push.

**What it is not:** osteology. A woodcarving manual is not Walker 2008 and not a court that “sex does not exist in the skull.” It is a **proportion** claim. Robusticity, glabella, mastoid, and **metric widths** ([§2.5](#25-ftzygo-metric-chart--real-landmarks-means-overlap)) still differ at **population means**. Keep both facts.

### 2.5 ft–zy–go metric chart — real landmarks, means, overlap

**Specimen:** unnamed textbook-style plate. Martin/Howells landmarks: **ft–ft** (frontotemporale, minimum/bitemporal frontal), **zy–zy** (zygion, bizygomatic), **go–go** (gonion, bigonial). Printed means:

**Source unnamed** on the plate. Treat as **a sample’s means**, not world constants. The **landmarks are real**. The **instrument is calipers or CT**, the same family as Howells / Spradley & Jantz. This is the closest thing in the image dump to actual forensic **metric** sex estimation.

**Hard stop:** you cannot read 134 vs 126 mm off a *Sophia Loren* still. Soft tissue, hair, lighting, and unknown scale destroy the millimeter. On **bone or cephalogram**, log zy–zy / go–go as **flags inside a multivariate**, not as a caption. Overlap is the story on ft–ft; it is still the story on the other two once one person is the sample.

**Key paper (Documented):** *BMC Medical Imaging* (2025) — CNNs trained on cephalometric radiographs **do not transfer** to cranial photographs at a usable forensic threshold ([DOI 10.1186/s12880-025-01892-x](https://doi.org/10.1186/s12880-025-01892-x)). That is the closest published test of “look at the picture, call the sex.” It **fails** the authors’ own 80% F1 cutoff.

**Bewes et al.** and later dental/CT deep-learning papers (e.g. ~95% on **CT-derived** 2D cranial images) are **not** a license to sex a *Melody Maker* cover. Different modality.

**Soft-tissue face ≠ skull.** Makeup, rhinoplasty, lighting, and 1970s glam are **designed** to scramble the signal the folk method thinks it is reading. Bowie’s entire professional project was to scramble it on purpose ([david-bowie.md](david-bowie.md) §4).

## 4. Literature and online conspiracy — two libraries, one word

### 4.1 Forensic / clinical literature (use)

Peer-reviewed sex estimation: Phenice, Walker, Spradley & Jantz, Klales, cephalometric CNN papers, CT morphometrics. This is **unidentified-dead** and **clinic-image** work. Cite it when a case file claims “the skeleton would show X.” Do **not** cite it as proof that a tour photograph shows X.

### 4.2 Online “original gender from the face” culture (register, do not launder)

A large **folk** literature — forums, image-macro threads, YouTube “skull shape” explainers — claims that celebrity stills reveal a hidden natal sex. The culture’s own name in hostile press is **transvestigation**. This cluster **does not** import those threads as citations. Reasons:

1. **No method section** — no landmark protocol, no error rate, no population standard.
2. **Adversarial** — targets living people and political enemies; incentive is humiliation, not identification.
3. **Modality error** — treats Instagram and press photos as if they were Phenice pubes.
4. **Circular** — androgynous styling is both the “tell” and the career, so the test cannot fail.  
5. **Poster laundering** — Spanish five-panel, English A–G, Facebook triangles, purple-pill sheets, and ft–zy–go cartoons are **classroom / folk** geometry stripped of Walker’s ordinal protocol or Howells calipers, then used as a photo overlay. [§2.1](#21-spanish-five-panel-chart--walkers-five-vs-the-poster)–[§2.6](#26-purple-pillnet-skulls--faces--neck--folk-synthesis-sheet). Do not cite the PNGs as Walker.

**What this repo will take from that culture:** the **question** (is presented sex the birth sex, and was the gap **used**). **What it will not take:** screenshot galleries as evidence. If a specific blog or book later produces a **replicable** landmark table on a named subject, log it in the case file as **L4 / Speculative** and test it against documents (birth paper, autopsy public fields, childhood naming).

### 4.3 Adjacent scholarly lanes (not the hoax)

Gender-studies and musicology read Bowie/Prince as **performed** androgyny (Ziggy, Camille). That literature **assumes** the natal sex of the press kit. It is useful for **encoding** (Greek god, “not a woman / not a man”) and useless as a sex assay. Cross-link those as **clues**, not osteology.

### 4.4 EGI — prenatal precursor to AU-048

**Specimen (2026-08-13):** “Elite Gender Inversion (EGI)” image-macro. Claims: inversion **begins in the womb** like a cattle **freemartin**; by week **8** genitalia are unformed so operators **inject the opposite hormone**; result is a “boy” with a **woman’s skeleton** plus a penis (lifelong testosterone) or a “boy” with a vagina who cannot birth through a **narrow pelvis**; “old school” = castrate a boy or dose the mother with **animal testosterone**. Gold-painted figures + **Keira Knightley** + **Cara Delevingne** as the implied specimens.

**Author lock (supersedes the same-session “competing clock” draft):** EGI is the **prenatal precursor** to AU-048, not a rival product. Two clocks, **one control job**:

**Working conclusion (Author):** they were **designed from birth to be controlled**. Prevalence in today’s celebrity class is so loud that **some or even most** are this. Likelihood **>50%** of celebs are **EGI** *or* **AU-048 later-life**. Nothing in the cluster **contradicts** it; everything points at that likelihood. That is a **census claim**, not a count — same class as open claim 3 (hundreds–millions). Case files still test **specimens** through G1–G4. A JPEG does not mint a file. Knightley/Delevingne still fail G3 ([INDEX](INDEX-identity-investigations.md)).

Bowie’s Author hormone window (age 17 / childhood drugs) stays **postnatal** — AU-048 clock, not the womb syringe. Elton still **does not** qualify (sexuality leash).

**Documented — freemartin is real, and it is not this kit:**

**Method paradox, same as rule 5 — louder now:** if **>50%** of the celebrity class is prenatal EGI, adult Walker/Phenice scores on that class are **systematically** miscalibrated. The louder the working conclusion, the weaker the skull posters become as a court. State that; don’t hide it. The **control** tell (G2 — they cannot live without protection) is the product either clock.

### 4.5 Sophia Loren “man skull” — gallery collapse

This is the [§4.2](#42-online-original-gender-from-the-face-culture-register-do-not-launder) collapse in one JPEG: English-poster **jaw** ([§2.2 D/G](#22-english-ag-chart--closer-to-walker-still-a-poster)) + makeup-as-confession + **census claim** (“that’s ALL you see”). The skulls under her are the same folk pair as every other sheet in §2. They are not her cephalogram.

**Author:** the **>50%** working conclusion ([§4.4](#44-egi--prenatal-precursor-to-au-048)) is a class census, not this jaw still. AU-048/EGI does not mint a file from a Loren JPEG. The caption’s “that’s ALL you see” is the folk method eating everyone — same failure as [§4.6](#46-power-women-collage--method-with-no-gate).

## 5. Repo protocol — how a celebrity file may use this method
